Vintage tractor run

Snapshot 1 (28-04-2015 15-28)A couple of us went out on the local vintage tractor run last weekend. Sadly our own little grey Fergie tractor was in the workshop, so tractors were borrowed from a friend’s extensive collection, and taken on a 35mile ride around the beautiful Leicestershire countryside, driving along lanes, tracks, and even crossing streams. Snapshot 1 (28-04-2015 15-26)12 vintage tractors from the 50’s and 60’s took part, meeting up at a local pub with 3 beautiful steam engines who had their own (very slow!) road run from Market Harborough to Foxton. Snapshot 4 (28-04-2015 15-22)Surprisingly relaxing, as the pace was around 15 miles per hour, and the seating position on most of them gives a great view of the area. Everyone found it hilarious that the local bicycle race was being held at the same time, especially as the meandering  journey through the lanes meant the tractors were overtaken by about 100 lycra-clad cycling fanatics 3 times during the morning (although they didn’t seem to think it was quite so funny….!). A great day, and we will definitely be going on their next run out
