It Lives…..!!!

Yay! The Little Grey Fergie is up and running and has been out for a road test. Just a little bit of fettling and a couple of minor tweaks to get her completely finished.

It’s taken almost 6 months from when she arrived in a very sorry state at our unit. With (quite a lot of) help and instruction from our friend and tractor restoration expert, Granville, we have finally got to this stage. Almost everything on her has been either repaired, replaced or cleaned up. A total respray, new tyres and the addition of some lights and shiny wheel nuts make her look as good as when she left the factory in Coventry. It’s been a labour of love (and frustration, and gritting of teeth, and occasional very bad language…), but a small piece of British history has been given a new lease of life.

At 65 years old she will be taking it easy though – no more heavy work or being stored in damp old sheds – although she will be driven regularly, and we plan on taking her to several Steam Fairs and Transport Galas and road runs this year – hopefully starting with the Lamport Festival of Country Life at the end of the month.
